I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. I am currently a KL2 Scholar in the UNM Clinical and Translational Science Center. My research interests are in understanding antibody responses to chronic and infectious diseases and developing novel vaccine strategies. I have a strong interest in increasing the representation of women and underrepresented minority groups in science. Trainees in my lab are part of a team that values diversity, hard work, humor, and collaboration.
Here is an interview with Explora, our local children's science museum, discussing my path to being a scientist.
